Kindle or Shortcovers
In today’s National Post, I write about my week with Amazon’s much-hyped e-reader, the Kindle, and sit down with Michael Serbinis, president of Shortcovers, Indigo’s e-book platform.

Mark,
I read your article (published in the Ottawa Citizen) with interest. However, I was disappointed that the serious downside of book ownership was not addressed. When I buy a book, used or new, I own that copy. I can read it, pass it onto a friend.
Not only can’t I do that with the Kindle books, but Amazon has the power to delete properly purchased books from your Kindle (and refund money to your account).
That is a little too much big brother power for me. I’ll stick to my paper books (for now).
Craig…
I am the proud owner of an Amazon Kindle, but I think that he will soon be replaced. I myself am excited about the Kindle, however, that thrills me even more of Apple iPad.
